His mother died n the same category and his father, who was a schoolmaster remarried four years later. An Inspector Calls is a wanton away written by English dramatist J. B. The family is visited by a man calling himself Inspector Goole, who questions the family about the suicide of a fresh working-class woman, Eva metalworker (also known as Daisy Renton).

Over the course of the evening, the entire family, on a lower floor interrogation by Goole, are revealed to have been responsible for the young womans exploitation, abandonment and social ruin, effectively leading to her death.
