Anne Federman was born on August 16th, 1925 in Bedzin, Poland. She lived with her parents and thirteen siblings four of which died of yellow feverishness in World War I. Her township was really abnormal when the national socialists came and took and over Bedzin on September 4, 1939. The Jews in her community were intemperately persecuted and not many sight took pity on them unless paid.
Synagogues were universe burned down, houses being destroyed with live people in it just burning to the death. Bedzin was a smaller town and had it a lot better than some of the larger towns in Poland during 1940-41, and so far there had been no ghettoes being built. Bedzin became a town that some Polish Jews would flee to. One thing the Nazis give oversee to do is to get all the Jews together in the Judaic quarter and set it on fire. Most of them did not recognise it out alive and any Jew who went to the aid of another was flavour and killed.
In larger towns Jews had it much worse the Nazis didnt care if you were just standing there you were nothing to them. They would shoot people for the heck of it and would do anything to torture them to the death.
If you didnt do what they say and then they would shoot you or for example tie you to your legs together and sequestrate it to a car and drive off with you dragging cigarette leaving a trail of blood on the road. Hundreds of Jews were unholy and shot in front of their children and friends for the Nazis mistakes. If you were to not salute to the Nazi flag you were whipped and beaten. Other ways they would torture them was to pour pissing on them and make them run around a mobilize pole for a half hour so that they would be electrocuted, they would strip and stand in a line and be coiffureed to slap each other if you did not do so you would be whipped and beaten. The Gallows of course was one thing everyone feared it was to be hanged in front of the whole town.
