Patrick Henrys Speech to the Virginia Convention
Patrick Henry, a young re deliverative who stood up in the Virginia House of Burgesses genius day in 1765. He was born in a frontier region of Virginia; he was raised in a cultured but modest environment. He had not invariably been so successful when he was young. In 1765, He delivered a deliverance against the hated Stamp Act, which the British taxes them on whole newspapers and public document. He expressd the Virginia Convention to arm its people against England. On April 19, 1775, the Battle of Lexington ignited the Revolutionary War. He was recognized as one of the most persuasive figures in Virginia politics because he uses Ethos, Logs, and Pathos in his speech. In Patrick Henrys speech to the Virginia Convention he used Aristotles rhetorical devices to persuade the members of the Virginia Convention to take up arms against Great Britain.
In the Beginning of the Speech to the Virginia Convention, Patrick Henry used Ethos in his speech to show prize and persuade his audience. For example, he said, Mr. prexy: No homo thinks more highly than I do of the patriotism, as well as abilities, of the very worthy gentlemen who give way just addressed the House.



He is saying that he show respects to the people that came before him. He alike uses this statement, It is only in this way that we can hope to flap at truth, and fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to graven image and our country. He refers to God because he knows the audience has great respect and faith for God.
At the same time, Henry uses logos to present common logical system and realism to persuade the audience. For example he said, Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. The logic in this sentence persuades the audience to follow the truth and not false hope. Another example is when he said, No mans life can be bought.
