The Old Testament hero I chose which I feel I am most like would be Moses. One of the greatest similarities is the event that we were both real reluctant to be inducted into the service of the Lord. I found that I utilise some of the same excuses which Moses used when God called him to be the leader of His people.
When God called me into the ministry I was very reluctant, to the point that when my Pastor scheduled me to do my initial address I backed out. I told her I was not seduce and from then on I found ever viable excuse I could use not to do what God had called me to do. Then one day God spoke to me and apprised me that if I did not do what He had commissioned me to do that He would take away my anointing. I tried my outmatch to reason with God. I went so far as to check Him that I was too shy to speak in effort of huge crowds, which was actually the truth at that particular time.
Gods answer was that He would do the speaking. He let me hunch forward that I was just the vessel He had chosen to use. God also lovingly informed me that He had already equipped me for ministry and then He began to walk me through it.
Moses life-time and ministry has greatly gain groundd me through many difficult situations. When I find myself in situations that I dont know how to handle, I always refer back to the scripture which Moses gave to the children of Israel to encourage them to trust God.
