It doesnt matter if it is blistering hot or debilitatingly cold, he walks all day and every day. His steps ar quick, short and it looks as though he is nigh to tour over his own feet at any moment, yet he doesnt. His head is always down and he doesnt piddle any eye contact with anyone passing by. He is in constant conversation with himself, but his conversation is muddled and incoherent. He will periodically veer off his beaten street and venture into my restaurant for a coffee and a griddlecake; his money is rolled into his hands and he is always pose to pay. He calls me nurse, although I make it clear to him that I am still a nursing student and on the occasions that I serve him, he asks me if I do it anything about Schizophrenia. He defines himself by his illness and says to me Im Schizophrenic and, with the slightest glimmer of hope, he asks me if I have intentional of any new drug or cure for his condition. He is quite a chatter box once you take away him in conversation. He tells me that his Schizophrenia developed in his late teens, that he lives in a basement apartment of his nephews house and that he takes his medication regularly.
